Whitstable and Herne Bay Lions were Chartered in 1971 and are one of the 941 clubs in the British Isles and Ireland, part of the worldwide family of Lions Clubs.
The Club raises money in the Whitstable & Herne Bay area and most of it goes back to the community in the form of help for those in need. In the past year help has been given to the Gateway Club, the Joy Lane Autistic Unit, Whitstable Sea Cadets and 3rd Whitstable Scouts. Members of the Blind Club have been taken on an outing on the Tenterden railway, computer equipment has been bought for a local blind girl and gardening services provided for an elderly lady.
